On May 27th, Legal Outreach virtually hosted its 38th Annual Benefit & Senior Honors Celebration to commemorate the accomplishments of the Class of 2021 and to express our gratitude to everyone who contributed. Our theme for this year’s May 27th event was Diversity & Social Justice. The theme was not just a catchy phrase but a commitment to act. During the 20-21 school year, we infused social justice topics throughout our college access curricula to not only educate our students on vital issues but also to enhance their understanding of their role as the next generation of leaders. The establishment of our newest program, the Civic Engagement and Social Justice Leadership Council, has created a pathway for our young people to engage in social justice initiatives of their own choosing and to develop the skills and confidence to enact positive change in their communities.
